So Far, So Good

Today marks 34 weeks for baby Avery Mae. We had an OB appointment today with Dr. Duke (regular OB) as well as an ultrasound to check fluid levels and growth. As of today, Avery weighs about 4lbs. 5oz. and my fluid level is 15, both of which are right on track. This news is encouraging because it indicates that Avery is swallowing and peeing the way she should be doing. Hopefully this means that her digestive tract is functioning somewhat normally.

Not much else to report. Shane and I went to lunch after the appointment and I think we both feel encouraged. There is a little children's boutique next to Jason's Deli and we bought Avery a little peach crochet hat with a white flower on it. This is the first thing that we have bought for her so it was kind of a sentimental moment!

Next appointment is next Friday, April 10. I'll keep you all posted on any new developments!

  2. Sounds like Avery is growing! That is great news your fluid levels are normal, for a lot of CDH mommies have high levels that can cause preterm labor. I am sure Avery will look very cute in her peach hat...beautiful color! What a moment to share with Shane. Avery is in my prayers.

  6. I linked to your blog from another CDH blog. My youngest daughter was born with R-CDH 8.11.03 and my oldest daughter's birthday is 5.15--I see that is Avery's due date. :) My CDH baby was actually born past her due date and her CDH was undiagnosed. She is now 3.5 years old and all girl. I will continue to read and follow your story as Avery is set to arive in a few weeks. Best of luck to you!

  11. Hi there! It's Jenn (Lynsay's sis). I was told by her about her situation, and I got on your blog to tell you that we are all thinking about you and praying for you. Now that I'm a mom, I understand (if not completely) the emotional turmoil you are facing. I am going to continue to hope for the best. We all love you in Colorado!!
