Day 10

Today was a good day for Avery Mae. She has been stable for the most part and resting comfortably. As far as I know, she has not had any other issues with her rapid heart rate so that is good. One of the doctors put another IV in her femoral artery so that there is another way to get meds into her little body. The doctor said it would be faster and much needed when the time comes to get her off of ECMO. I felt encouraged that they are beginning to think about preparing her to be off ECMO as that will be the true test of how the lungs and heart will do on their own.

As far as we are concerned, we have been doing our own little separate things today. Shane spent some time driving around and also went to Walgreens to develop some pics of Avery and the family. I went to the mall briefly to get out of the waiting room and the two grandmas went to see Angels and Demons. Hopefully tonight and tomorrow will be uneventful.

Until tomorrow-Carissa

To the Keirsey family...I keep a daily check on your blog to see how precious little Avery Mae is progressing. I know Heavenly Father knows her personally and loves her, and He will see that her purpose in life is fulfilled. She has much good to accomplish with her life, and I have the faith, that according to His will, she will heal and grow up to bless your family and the lives of her many associates all her days. The love you have for the Lord and the faith each of you possess make it possible for the miracle to come forth which we are all seeking. My prayers continue for all of you. 10. Boy, she sure is fighting hard. Thinking of y'all and praying hard as always. I'm glad you were able to get out to the mall and get a change of scenery. I know that had to help a little bit.

    Stay strong,

    Love, Stephanie

I have a CD from a Christian group called Signature Sound. There is a song on it (almost a lullaby) of a dad singing each night to his child - praying for a good heart for his child each night "one that cares for the weak, one that hears when You (the Lord) speak, one that will make You smile, God give this child a good heart" - I have been singing it every day to and from work with the words "God give Sweet Avery a strong heart"! This is my constant prayer. I love you Carissa and I am praying for all of you and sending much love to you and your families. Give my Katie a kiss for me!

  12. Hi Carissa, My daughter Madelaine is in your mom's prek class this year. I've been reading your blog and thinking of you and your family. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. I can't imagine how hard this has been for you. My family and I are praying for your family and your team of doctors nurses and techs. Thanks for keeping us here in Colorado updated. We love your mom and miss her. If you can, let her know we are thinking of her and to let me know if there is anything at home that she needs help with.
